Utility Locating
Utility Locating is the process of identifying and labeling underground utility mains and lateral service lines. These lines may include electric, gas, water, telecommunications, sewer, storm drains, street lights, site lighting and irrigation.
Did you know 811 only marks approximately 30-40% of site utilities? The other 60-70% of utilites will need to be located by a private utility locator.
Striking an underground utility can result in costly repairs. Repairing a utility line can be expensive and cause a disruption to vital services. Damaging an underground utility can also cause serious injuries.
Underground utility lines are manufactured with many different types of material which require various utility locating methods. We use Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Radio Detection (RD) equipment on each and every locating project. By partnering these methods together, we can ensure the best possible locating experience.
