The schools were located in Sanford and Winter Park, Florida. The customer was installing new generator equipment which also required new underground electrical to each generator. The equipment would be placed between the schools and the exterior chillers. As-Built plans indicated the possibility of numerous underground utilities near the proposed electrical trenches. The utility locator used the following equipment to locate the underground utilities. A 400MHz ground penetrating radar unit manufactured by GSSI and a Radiodetection utility wand and transmitter. The transmitter can place a signal tone onto metallic pipes and tracer wires for locating with the utility wand.
